W.I.T. Commodities' Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Policy, adopted by the Board and applicable across our Palm Oil, Muriate of Potash and Cashew Nut activities.
This Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Policy sets out the principles and commitments by which W.I.T. Commodities (Worldwide International Trading Ltd) operates as an international commodity trading house. It applies to the Directors, employees, agents, contractors, suppliers, and business partners of W.I.T. Commodities across our full commodity portfolio — Palm Oil, Muriate of Potash and Cashew Nut — and forms the framework by which we ensure our activities equitably balance the interests of People, Planet, and Prosperity.
The Policy is owned by the Board of Directors and is reviewed at least once per calendar year, or whenever a material change occurs to the frameworks it aligns with. It is publicly available and any interested party is entitled to raise questions, concerns, or grievances through the channels set out in Section 05.04.
Across our Palm Oil, Muriate of Potash and Cashew Nut activities, we work toward recognised industry standards for responsible sourcing, product quality, food safety, traceability, supplier approval, environmental stewardship and ethical business conduct. The standards applied reflect the commodity, destination market, intended use and contractual requirements.
We support accepted standards for transparent and traceable sourcing, legal compliance, responsible land use, protection of forests and peatlands, respect for workers and communities, greenhouse-gas reduction and credible sustainability claims. We require origin partners to provide appropriate supporting documentation and cooperate with proportionate due diligence.
The following seven principles set the minimum standard for how we operate. They are applied by W.I.T. Commodities directly and are required of the counterparties with whom we contract.
We conduct our business transparently and ethically. We maintain a documented code of ethical conduct, prohibit all forms of corruption, bribery, and fraudulent use of funds, and undertake Human Rights Due Diligence across our operations and direct suppliers, reviewed at least every two years.
We operate in compliance with all applicable laws and ratified international conventions in the jurisdictions in which we trade. We require our contractors and counterparties to demonstrate legal compliance, including tenure and business licences, and we prohibit any use of child labour, forced or trafficked labour, or recruitment fees charged to workers.
We maintain documented traceability of goods from origin to discharge, through structured contracts, KYC on both counterparties, marine insurance and inspection at load port and discharge. Sustainability claims are made only where they are accurate, supported by evidence and compliant with applicable market, certification and sector-specific communications requirements.
We respect the human rights of workers, contractors, suppliers, affected communities, and human rights defenders. We uphold the principle of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) in relation to origin community engagement, and maintain an accessible, impartial grievance system that protects complainants from reprisal or intimidation.
We support the inclusion of smallholders in our supply base through fair and transparent trading terms, mutually agreed FFB and produce pricing, and active engagement with origin partners to strengthen smallholder livelihoods and legal recognition.
We prohibit discrimination, forced labour, child labour, and all forms of intimidation, harassment, abuse, and violence in the workplace. We support freedom of association and collective bargaining, progress toward Living Wage payment across our supply chain, and require occupational health and safety practices consistent with the ILO framework.
We will not knowingly source Palm Oil linked to illegal deforestation, conversion of primary forest, High Conservation Value (HCV) areas, High Carbon Stock (HCS) forests or irresponsible peatland development. We support Integrated Pest Management, responsible waste and water management, greenhouse-gas emissions reduction and compliance with applicable deforestation regulations for in-scope commodities.
This Policy is owned by the Board of Directors of Worldwide International Trading Ltd. The Board is accountable for its implementation, monitoring, and annual review. Material issues arising in the course of implementation are reported to the Board and, where appropriate, disclosed publicly.
Any worker, supplier, community member, business partner, or member of the public may raise a grievance, concern, or report of suspected breach of this Policy by writing to desmond.compliance@witcommodities.com. We commit to acknowledging receipt within five business days, handling the matter impartially and confidentially (or anonymously where requested), and taking no action of reprisal or intimidation against a complainant.
Grievances are logged, tracked to resolution, and reported in aggregate as part of the annual review of this Policy.
